Borrowing and Requesting

In order to borrow or request literature a valid library card is required.

Registration with the Library
First get your TUCard activated at the circulation desk. Now you are able to renew, reserve or borrow titles or order them from the closed stacks by logging in with your library number. You will find this number below the bar code on the reverse side of your TU card. The numbers initial digits are 0104… Your password is your date of birth DDMMYY. From your library account you can see whether the books that you have borrowed have been reserved and also the borrowing expiry date of the media you have borrowed.

Several copies of major text books are to be found in the text book collection. The books are arranged according to subject. They can be taken from the shelves at will and borrowed at the self-service station near the information desk. The loan period is 4 weeks. You will find a non-lendable copy of each title in the reading room.

Here you will find literature about all the subjects read at this university: reference books, current titles, serially published journals from the last ten years and newspapers. Primary works of reference from other subject areas are available.  As in the text book collection the stocks of the reading room are arranged according to subject area. Apart from a few exceptions (non-lendable copies with a red shelf mark) books can be borrowed from the reading room via the self-service station.
