Repository
The repository of the TU Clausthal enables TU members the electronic publication of their research papers in the context of the Open Access Initiative.
Publications e.g. journal articles, conference papers, reports, teaching material, research data amongst other things, whether as initial or secondary publication (Erstveröffentlichung or Zweitveröffentlichung), can be filed on the repository by the author. Also for examination texts, e.g. dissertations and post-doctoral theses (Habilitationsschriften), but also for Bachelor's, Master's and other final papers, the repostitory provides the appropriate context.
Digital documents created at the TU Clausthal are thus generally searchable. Anyone globally is able to search or browse.
Delivery of the files for the repository
The work should be in PDF. It is also possible to submit other formats e.g. HTML, Tex.
The easiest way is to upload your file directly to our repository. To do so, you need to log in to the repository with your computer center (RZ) account and password.
Alternatively, you can send us your files by e-mail. If the file is too large for the e-mail attachment, please use the service Cryptshare provided by the RZ.
You are also welcome to bring the files in person. Please make an appointment by phone.
In addition, please do not forget to fill out the registration form so that we can process your publication.
DOI assignment
Clausthal University Library assigns DOI for scientific publications (e.g. conference papers, dissertations ect.) that are posted on the repository of Clausthal University of Technology for first publication.
To make electronic publications permanently accessible and thus citable, the university library also assigns an urn for publications on the repository.
Further procedure
If you decide to upload your data to the publication server yourself, please proceed as follows:
Log in to the publication server with your RZ user ID and password.
After selecting Publish in the "Submit document" tab, you must first specify a publication type. The subsequent input form differs depending on the publication type. However, the following fields must always be filled in: Title, SDNB subject group, Licence. (For dissertations, also university location and university) If possible, it would be helpful if additional fields such as authors, year of publication or keywords could be added. If you have any comments that could be important or helpful to us, you can add them in a separate field.
If you already have a DOI, ISBN or other identifier, you can also import the information. To do this, after you have specified the publication type, select one of the options from "Import publication metadata from other databases" and enter the identifier. The appropriate metadata will now be inserted automatically. Please check this again for accuracy. You can then upload your files.
The data you have submitted will now be checked again by our library staff and then approved.
Metadata Harvesting
Accessing the metadata of the publication server is possible via an OAI-PMH interface (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). One way of evaluating this easily with an R package is described, for example, on a HU Berlin website.
