Catalog Room

Originally, our "catalogs" were in this room, in which the holdings of the University Library could be researched. These "card catalogs" no longer exist... but the name still exists.

What can you find in the catalog room?

Information:
One of the first points of contact in the library is the "service desk". There you can get answers to many of your questions.

Books:
Language textbooks and textbooks from the Department of Economics.

Borrowing and return terminal:
Directly at the entrance to the catalog hall you will find the self-checkout machines for borrowing and returning media.

Collection shelf:
Media that you order from our stacks are coded and deposited on the collection shelf. The collection code is made up of the first letter of your surname and the last four digits of your library card number.
Media that you order before 2 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays can be collected on the same day. Media that you order after 2 p.m. will be collected on the next working day (Monday - Friday) from 9 a.m. onwards. The media will remain on the collection shelf for 5 days.
Please note that media from the collection shelf must still be borrowed via the self-checkout system.

Workstations:
Many group tables invite teamwork.

Printer, copier, scanner:
Print, copy, scan. The appropriate devices are available in the catalog room.

Guest PC:
Users without a computer center account can read our electronic offers on a guest PC. A printer is connected via the Service Desk. The cost for a black and white printout is € 0.05 and for a color printout € 0.15.

Defibrillator:
There is a defibrillator at the Service Desk for emergencies that will hopefully never occur.
