Catalog Room

A room with many functions

Originally, our "catalogs", in which the UB's holdings could be researched, were located in this room. These "card catalogs" no longer exist.... but still the name.

What can you find in the catalog room?

Information:
The catalog room is one of the first points of contact in the library of the "Service Desk". There you will get answers to many of your questions.

Books:
Language textbooks and textbooks of the Department of Economics.

Lending and return terminal:
Directly at the entrance to the catalog room are the Self-checkout devices for borrowing and returning media.

Pick-up shelf:
Media that you order from our stacks are deposited in the pick-up shelf in coded form. The pick-up code consists of the first letter of your last name and the last four digits of your library card number. Media that you order Monday through Friday before 2:00 p.m. can be picked up on the same day. Media that you order after 2:00 p.m. will be delivered to you the next business day (Monday - Friday) starting at 9:00 a.m. The media will remain on the collection shelf for 5 days. Please note that media from the pick-up shelf must still be borrowed via self-checkout.

Workstations:
Many group tables invite teamwork.

Printer, copier, scanner:
Print, copy, scan. The appropriate devices are located in the catalog room.
