Publication server

The TU Clausthal publication server enables TU members to publish their academic work electronically as part of the Open Access Initiative.

Your own publications, e.g. journal articles, conference papers, reports, teaching materials, research data, etc., whether as first or second publications, can be stored on the server. The publication server also offers a suitable framework for examination papers, e.g. dissertations and post-doctoral theses, as well as Bachelor's, Master's and other final theses.

Digital documents created at Clausthal University of Technology are thus generally searchable. Anyone worldwide can search or browse them.

Delivery of files for the publication server

The work should be in PDF format. It is also possible to submit other formats, e.g. HTML, Tex.

The easiest way is to upload your file directly to our publication server. To do this, you must log in to the publication server with your computer center account and password.

Alternatively, you can send us your files by e-mail. If the file is too large for the e-mail attachment, please use the Cryptshare service provided by the RZ.

You can also bring the files to us in person. Please make an appointment by telephone.

Please do not forget to fill in the registration form and send it to us so that we can process your publication.

DOI assignment

Clausthal University Library assigns DOIs for scientific publications (e.g. conference papers, dissertations, etc.) that are posted on the publication server of Clausthal University of Technology for initial publication.

In order to make electronic publications permanently accessible and thus citable, the University Library also assigns an URN for publications on the publication server.

Further procedure

If you decide to upload your data to the publication server yourself, proceed as follows:

Log in to the publication server with your computer center account and password.

After you have selected Publish in the left-hand column, you must first define a publication type. The following input form differs depending on the publication type. However, the following fields are always mandatory: Title, DNB subject group, license. (For dissertations also university location and university) If possible, it would be nice if further fields such as authors, year of publication or keyword could be added. If you have any comments that could be important or helpful for us, you can add them in a separate field.

If you already have a DOI, an ISBN or another identifier, it is also possible to import the information. To do this, once you have specified the publication type, click on the Show additional options option and enter the identifier. The appropriate metadata will now be inserted automatically. Please check this again to make sure it is correct. You can then upload your files.

The data you have submitted will now be checked once again by our specialist librarians and then approved.

Metadata harvesting

Access to the metadata of the publication server is possible via an OAI-PMH interface (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). One way of easily evaluating this is described, for example, with an R package here on the HU Berlin website.
