You search in the GVK and order with the interlibrary loan account yourself. You can have the interlibrary loan account set up directly at the service desk or by email.
We explain how you can order with your interlibrary loan account in the"Step-by-step guide".
The loan period is usually 28 days.
The loan periods are set by the lending library; an extension can be requested at the service desk.
In rare cases, this period may be shortened or reading room use may be specified. All information on this is displayed in your library account.
Electronic copy deliveries are made available to you by e-mail with a download link. Copies of articles are intended to remain with you.
All interlibrary loan requests within Germany are free of charge for TU members. The University Library will cover the costs of the order.
Non TU members pay €1.50 per interlibrary loan order.
Creating an interlibrary loan account is free of charge. You determine in advance how many orders you want to place and pay the corresponding amount in cash at the Service Desk. The interlibrary loan account can be topped up again and again.
Interlibrary loan accounts whose user activity dates back more than 3 years are automatically deleted (together with the credit balance). A refund before the end of this period is possible. TU members must send an informal e-mail to the Service Desk at the beginning of each new year to renew the interlibrary loan account.
The delivery time for books is approx. 2 - 3 weeks. Copies are usually delivered much faster.
Direct electronic delivery of copies will be possible from 01.06.2024. It is important that a current e-mail address is stored in your interlibrary loan account.
A download link will be sent to this e-mail address, which you can use to retrieve the text within 30 days.
Literature that is available in a Clausthal library.
The owning libraries can exclude certain media from interlibrary loan (e.g. older or particularly current literature, loose-leaf editions, legal texts). Further information can be found in the interlibrary loan regulations.
If you need a document particularly quickly, you can use the fee-based document delivery service subito.
You can register yourself and order urgently needed literature. Copies will be delivered by e-mail within 24 or 72 hours. Book orders are only processed within 72 hours using the subito standard service (excluding weekends and public holidays). The return shipment of the books is at the user's expense and is not included in the above-mentioned price.
All information and prices can be found at subito.
Clausthal University Library does not act as an intermediary, as is the case with interlibrary loans.
Titles that cannot be found in any German library can be ordered via international interlibrary loan. Please contact the colleagues at the Service Desk, who will advise you individually.
All costs incurred by the order must be paid by you (also applies to TU members).
If you have any further questions, please contact the Service Desk.
