PAR fees

Under the DEAL contract, Wiley journals are divided into three different tiers/categories, each of which is subject to different PAR fees: Tier I = journals that, for example, operate full-time, permanent editorial offices or are run by full-time editors-in-chief, i.e. employed by Wiley or a professional society. They have hybrid APC list prices outside of DEAL of over EUR 3,500 - however, the APC price alone is not decisive. Tier II & III = journals that differ according to their respective ownership status (Tier II = journals from specialist societies or Wiley's own journals).

PAR fees for articles in Angewandte Chemie

For articles in the German edition of Angewandte Chemie, a fee equivalent to 50% of the PAR fee of the international edition (50% of the Tier 1 fee) is charged in the first year of the contract. Articles in the English edition, the Angewandte Chemie International Edition, are subject to the full PAR fee (Tier 1).

From the second year of the contract, the PAR fee for articles in the international edition also covers the translations in the German edition, so that a separate PAR fee is no longer payable for these.

Fully Open Access (APCs)

Publications in Wiley's pure (Gold) Open Access journals are charged at the list price less a 20% discount.
